The difference between a safari and a game drive is that a safari means the whole trip or itinerary and a game drive is an activity or excursion part of that safari itinerary where wildlife viewing is the main focus of the trip.
Day 1: NAIROBI – SAMBURU/SHABA
Early morning departure from Nairobi for Samburu/Shaba National Park (6hrs30mins). Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. Enjoy an afternoon/evening game drive. Overnight & dinner at the lodge.
DAY 2: GAME DRIVES
Today enjoy game drives in Samburu and Shaba National Parks. Lunch & dinner at the lodge.
DAY 3: SAMBURU / SHABA – OL PEJETA
After an early morning game drive depart for Ol Pejeta (3hrs). On arrival check and after lunch enjoy an afternoon game drive or optional visit to Rhino/Chimpanzee sanctuaries. After dinner embark up on the unique experience of a 2 hrs night game drive (7pm or 9pm). Overnight at Ol Pejeta.
DAY 4: OL PEJETA
Enjoy the various optional activities at Ol Pejeta or morning and evening game drives. Overnight at Ol Pejeta
DAY 5: OL PEJETA – NAKURU
After an early morning game drive and breakfast depart for Nakuru National Park (3hrs drive). Nakuru is famous for its soda lake which attracts flamingos and its population of hippos, rhinos and other wildlife species.
The lake cruise is an optional extra. Enjoy an afternoon game drive. Overnight and dinner at Nakuru.
Day 6: NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
Enjoy a morning and afternoon game drive. Overnight and dinner at Nakuru.
Day 7: NAKURU – MASAI MARA
Depart early morning from Nakuru (after breakfast) for a drive through the countryside for Masai Mara (6hrs drive). Arrive in time for lunch.
Your game drive starts as soon as you enter the reserve. After lunch and rest embark on an afternoon game drive. Overnight & dinner at Masai Mara.
Day 8: MASAI MARA
Your wildlife viewing adventure continues into the world famous Masai Mara Reserve. Today you have the opportunity to enjoy the vast Reserve and viewing of its resident wildlife. If lucky, you will get see a live kill by a big cat (lion, cheetah, leopard) and herds of elephants, giraffes and other wildlife.
Enjoy a morning and evening game drive.
Overnight & Dinner at Masai Mara.
Day 9: MASAI MARA
Another day to catch the wildlife action that you may have missed during the itinerary. A morning and evening game drive awaits you to complete your last full day of the wildlife program.
Dinner & overnight at Masai Mara.
Day 10: MASAI MARA – NAIROBI
Depart for Nairobi after breakfast (7hrs drive). Last morning game drive is available if you still want to satisfy the appetite for viewings.
Optional flight (1hr) to Nairobi at an extra cost.
On arrival in Nairobi you will dropped off at the international airport for your return flight home.
