Day 1. ST. PETERSBURG
Arrival. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.
Day 2. ST. PETERSBURG
Breakfast. City sightseeing tour, during which you will admire the splendid views of St. Petersburg: the Arts Square, surrounded by 3 museums and 4 theatres; the Palace Square offering an impressive view of the Baroque Winter Palace; the Vasilyevsky Island; the famous Nevsky Avenue considered the “heart” of the city. You will no doubt be fascinated by the quiet wide rivers and the canals system, by the beautiful bridges, by the majestic domes of Orthodox churches and cathedrals. We will also visit the Peter and Paul Fortress. Peter the Great had the construction of his new capital started with this fortress on May 27th, 1703, and this day is actually considered the birth of St. Petersburg. Lunch. Free time.
Day 3. ST. PETERSBURG
Breakfast. Morning starts with a visit to the Hermitage Museum, Russia’s best gallery of world art, one of the most prominent art museums in the world and definitely the main tourist attraction of St. Petersburg. The principal building of the Hermitage Museum is the Winter Palace, the residence of the Russian Czars, magnificently located on the bank of the Neva River. The museum was founded in 1764. Today, the Hermitage boasts over 2.7 million exhibits and displays a diverse range of art and artifacts from all over the world and from throughout history. The Hermitage collection includes works by Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael and Titian, a unique collection of Rembrandts and Rubens. Lunch. Free time.
Day 4. ST. PETERSBURG
Breakfast. Check-out of the hotel and transfer to the airport.
