Africa’s aviation landscape continues to evolve, with new routes and airline partnerships strengthening flight connectivity across Africa at both regional and international levels. Flight connectivity across Africa:
A key highlight is Air Tanzania’s newly announced twice-weekly service linking Dar es Salaam, Victoria Falls, and Cape Town, creating a strategic air bridge between East, Southern, and Central Africa. Launching in December, the route enhances access between iconic destinations connecting Tanzania’s safari regions, Victoria Falls, and Cape Town’s cultural and coastal experiences while offering greater flexibility for both leisure and business travellers.
At the regional level, Airlink continues to play a pivotal role in expanding Southern Africa’s connectivity through targeted airline partnerships. Its Special Prorate Agreement (SPA) with Air Austral enables seamless single-ticket travel and checked baggage between Réunion Island and more than 45 destinations across Southern Africa, including Cape Town, Durban, Windhoek, Lusaka, and Victoria Falls.
Further strengthening East Southern Africa links, Uganda Airlines and Airlink have signed an interline agreement, allowing travellers to journey from Entebbe to a wide network of Southern African destinations via Johannesburg, with simplified connections and through check-in supporting both leisure and commercial travel flows.

At the international level, Emirates continues to reinforce its African footprint, increasing frequencies and leveraging partner carriers to strengthen connectivity through major hubs like Johannesburg and Cape Town, while also supporting cargo and trade movements.
